Volunteering

Is it right for me?

Even amidst the pandemic, Harmony Hospice continues to provide life changing service to all our services areas. Volunteers are invited to continue in person visits or work with our Volunteer Coordinator to contribute virtual support to the community. PPE offered to all volunteers completing in-person visits.

Our Goal

Support our community

Our goal is to create an environment in which patients, families, staff, and hospice volunteers are treated with respect and dignity. When a hospice volunteer is assigned a patient we want the volunteer to become an integral member of that patient’s interdisciplinary team.

A Hospice Volunteer who joins this team will often bring help and services to which patients and their families may not have access. Even without a medical background, a hospice volunteer has gifts they can offer.

Some examples of the volunteer role:

Companionship
Respite care for family members and other caregivers
Massage, music or pet therapy, healing touch or other alternative therapies
Bereavement support
Clerical assistance at our office
Practicum and internship opportunities
Veterans helping veterans
Make a difference

Join our team!

At Harmony Hospice, we thoroughly interview our volunteers and provide training before they are allowed to help patients. This helps us find the best fit for each of our patient’s needs. Our volunteers become an important part of the patient’s care team. Volunteers do not need to have a medical background, meaning anyone can join!
